A
native of Dayton, Ohio Bruce Tatman developed an enthusiasm for
drawing and cars at an early age. Fond memories of a '67 GTO and
'67 Chevelle SS, a couple of classic muscle cars owned by older
brothers influenced his passion for racing, particularly drag racing.
Growing up the youngest boy in a family of six with three older brothers,
sports was a big part of life, whether it was as a spectator or playing
the sport himself.
So it comes as no surprise that cars, racing and sports are at the
center of his artworks. A graduate of Central Academy of Commercial
Art in Cincinnati, Ohio, through the years Bruce has applied his talents
in advertising and screen printing, but finds his true passion in illustration.
Working
realistically mostly, but not exclusively in watercolors. Over the
past 20 years his works have been featured by Becketts Publications,
St. Louis Blues, Don Prudhomme/Snake Racing, John Force Racing along
with numerous other sports and motorsports teams and publications,
to include the private collections of players and drivers.
Bruce currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife Carol
and son Andrew and still enjoys a day at the drag races or a good game
of softball or ice hockey.
